The Trollhättan plant rolling again

The production line at Saab Automobile’s state-of-the-art Trollhättan plant began rolling again today, heralding a new era for the Swedish premium car maker as an independent company. To mark the occasion, Saab Automobile CEO Jan Åke Jonsson, Spyker Cars CEO Victor Muller and Trollhättan Plant Director Gunnar Brunius took up positions on the line alongside assembly workers as the first batch of cars was built.

Congrats to all! I see a 9-5 in my future. What a beautiful piece of engineering, AND edmunds/insideline praises the vehicle in an early review.

This is what we've been waiting for! Saab rolling again :)

Please support my musical endeavours and buy the new "Griffin Up!" on iTunes. It's really cheap and it would mean a lot to me :)

It doesn't do any good to make great cars without local dealers to sell and service them. Since Saab has seen fit to discontinue having a dealer in Omaha (a city of 600,000), I have been forced to put my Saab up for sale. It was nice while it lasted. Good bye Saab.

Wow! My Saab-dealer just called me and said that my 9-3 1.8t Sport Sedan has arrived!!! I'm going to get it next week LOVE!!! This also means that new Saabs are on its way to other dealers and customers, beginning filling up inventories.

Congratulation to all of you! If you build the 9-5 SportCombi please think about the sloping rear window - larger people on the back seat want to look outside.

I recently traded in my 1991 Saab 9000 at 300,000 miles. That car let me down once during all that time - when the ignition system failed. My dealer had me up and running the next day. That was a great car. I would have purchased another Saab instead of a Passat, but GM ruined Saab - first by shutting down my wonderful dealer, and then by offering products which did not live up to the Saab name (ie vehicles with GM engines in them - yuck!). I look forward to new Saab designing and producing vehicles which are durable and reliable like my old 9000, so that I can buy myself another Saab...
